Sewer refurbishment

Sewers are subject to heavy loads due to the constant water flows. Moreover, continuing urban expansion is placing a growing burden on the sometimes ageing sewage system, with cracking and fracturing as the consequence. Yet, even new sewers may suffer joint leakages that require sealing. Failure to remedy such leakages will allow heavily contaminated water to seep into the soil and put the groundwater quality at risk.

The main purpose of sewer refurbishments is thus to prevent the infiltration or escape of water into or from the sewer pipes. Different injection products are recommended depending on the particular application and circumstances. While acrylates are ideal for grouting construction elements in contact with the ground, PU resins and urea-silicates, in diverse forms, are suitable for all types of injection and coating.
