Grit-gravel stabilization

Gravel/chippings offer excellent strain properties when subjected to heavy compressive loads. However, the same mechanism that improves the distribution of heavy weights over a large area tends to be unsuitable for everyday use by trucks, bicycles or pedestrians. The loosely placed stones allow constant displacement of the base, which results in the formation of ruts and hollows. On sloping terrain, the slippage of material is a further potential problem.

Stabilization with tough, elastic PU grouts allows the benefits of such loosely laid bases to be preserved while eliminating virtually all the disadvantages. Nor is water permeability in any way affected. The PU grout is used to wet the gravel/chippings and thereby bond the contact areas between the individual stones. Thanks to the material's low viscosity, the voids between the stones remain open and rainwater drainage is guaranteed.
