Crack and joint injections

Although concrete exhibits a high compressive strength, its tensile strength is very low. As soon as the strain limit of the steel reinforcement is exceeded, cracks will appear in the concrete fabric. In most cases, these cracks will have no negative impact on loadbearing capacity. They do, however, offer a path for the infiltration of water and moisture, which, in the long term, may severely damage the building fabric. The same applies for poor concreting workmanship that results in honeycombing. In addition, artificial leakage paths are created by the construction joints formed between the separate concrete elements during casting.

In all cases, cracks or joints can be completely filled by targeted injections so as to restore a waterproof barrier. Choice of the best injection product is dictated by the specific circumstances and work location.
