Underwater waterproofing
Underwater waterproofing – i.e. injections performed completely beneath the surface of the water – are frequently needed for remedial works to existing hydraulic structures or facilities in cases where the water cannot be drained off or otherwise retained.
Underwater operations of this kind place special demands in terms of grouting technique. The pressure and visibility conditions create a difficult working environment for injection technicians. The deployed injection pumps, mixing heads and packers must all be designed for underwater operation.
Moreover, the choice of injection product for such applications is limited to acrylates and polyurethanes whose reaction behaviour is unaffected by water.
